January 2023 - Love is in the air

Wow, it's nearly February. Dates for the diary, 4th World Cancer day, 14th Valentines day, 20th National Love Your Pet day, 21st Shrove Tuesday and may more.Lots to keep us all busy in just 28 days.

Please 'show love, shop small' — it is a really scary and uncertain time out their right now for lots of small businesses. Though many have had to close their online stores, there is still plenty of time for us to support our local high streets. If we are a little bit more organised and with a little more time, we can buy local at our butchers, bakers, florists combining exercise with walking to and from. It's a win win.

A FINAL THOUGHT

Since Christmas, I’ve been prioritising some early morning ‘me time’ by walking the dog or going to the gym. As we get older and in my case menopausal, it can take a lot of effort to get to the gym or walk the dog. But, as we all know, exercise, whether big or small, is so good for our mind and body. Im also trying to read more. I do love a book - its the printer in me, but at night i have started  listening to audio books. Whether reading just a few pages of a book before bed, or getting out for a morning walk, I’d encourage you to set yourself a weekly goal for the month of February and try to stick to it. Remember, empathy isn’t just for others but also for ourselves, so try to understand why you’re feeling the way you feel and be kind to yourself too. It really helps, trust me.
